International Ventures

IIT Mandi provides international Master’s and Ph.D. students with possibilities for spending up to a year at IIT Mandi. By visiting IIT Mandi, international students can work with institution’s faculty on collaborative research topics involving institutional, regional, and national interests. IIT Mandi also provides possibilities for faculty members at international universities to spend some time for the purposes of teaching and research. The fields in which IIT Mandi is currently involved at the Bachelors, Master’s and Ph.D. levels include Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Basic Sciences, Civil and Mechanical Engineering, and Humanities and Social Sciences.

For those international universities with which IIT Mandi has an existing MoU/agreement, the terms and conditions for the exchange of students and faculty would be determined by the underlying MoU/agreement. For students and faculty of international universities with which IIT Mandi does not have an existing MoU/agreement, the terms and conditions on exchange, IPR, and funding pattern would need to be worked out.

The important organizations / Institutions with whom collaborations have been finalized / under progress in respect of IIT Mandi are as follows:-

• Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden - MoU signed for exchange of faculty and students, and collaboration in research.


• IT University, Copenhagen, Denmark - MoU signed for exchange of faculty and students; and, faculty exchange visits for co-teaching the Software Engineering (SE) course (the SE course is co-taught by a faculty of IIT, Mandi and ITU, Copenhagen).


• Stuttgart University and the TU9 Institutions, Germany - MoU signed for exchange of faculty and students, and collaboration in research.


• Dublin City University, Dublin 9, Ireland - joint research in atomic and molecular physics.


• India-UK Advanced Technology Centre www.iu-atc.com - participation in research on next generation networks

International students from organizations / Institutions with whom collaborations have been finalized could apply to IIT Mandi by downloading and filling these forms.

• Student Exchange Form-2
• Medical Fitness Form

These forms need to be completed by international students and submitted to Dr. Prem Felix Siril, Advisor, and Dr. Varun Dutt, Co-Advisor, International Relations, IIT Mandi, through e-mail or snail-mail. However, before completing and sending these forms, it is advised that interested international students contact their own International Office as well as Dr. Prem Felix Siril and Dr. Varun Dutt expressing their interest for coming to IIT, Mandi.
