The Music section of IIT Mandi was established with the aim of encouraging, practising and performing various genres of music (classical, western, fusion etc.). Run by highly talented members and equipped with specialised musical instruments, the section is scripting success stories in all cultural events. The fun-filled practice sessions are an icing on the cake for members as they try to learn from the mistakes made in grabbing the subtleties of a song.
In the very first year of operation, section members participated actively in various cultural events organized at IIT Roorkee - Swaranjali, Pehla Nasha, Tarang and NAISSANCE (IIT Mandi's first cultural show in Roorkee).
The trend has continued in Mandi with mind blowing performances on Foundation Day, Independence Day, Bhawan Day etc. The section also rocked the audience in EXUBERANCE, our first cultural show in Mandi with reverberating instrumental and vocal performances. The section also represented IIT Mandi in the PAN IIT Conclave at Noida, the Shivaratri festival at Mandi and other Inter IIT contests (finalists in IIT Ropar Cultural Fest).
As for the future plans, the section plans to purchase a complete set of audio equipment (including mixers, Amplifiers, Speakers etc.) and continue down the road of success.
