Dr. Gopi Shrikanth Reddy has joined IIT Mandi as Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering. Shrikanth completed his Ph.D from IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India. He was also a recipient of Indo-French Raman-Charpak fellowship and did part of his research work at University of Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) Paris, Sorbonne University, France. He received his Master’s degree (MS by research) from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University Vellore and his Bachelor’s degree (BE) from Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishvavidhyalaya (RGPV)-Technical University Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Prior to joining IIT Mandi, he was working as a postdoctoral research scientist at Advance Wireless Research Center (ADWISR), State University of New York, Oswego, USA. There he worked on compact antennas at VHF band for vehicular applications.
Shrikanth’s research interest includes design and testing of RF and Microwave antennas, microwave passive components and filters. His doctoral research was about design of novel Ultra-wideband antenna with diversity characteristics. His PhD work also includes design and testing of antennas with intrinsic band rejection capabilities and analysis of possible mode propagation within human tissue layers. During his master program he worked on millimeter wave antennas integrated with Metamaterial and surface wave structures. He is a member of IEEE Antennas and Propagation society. He is also a reviewer for technical journals like IEEE Transaction of Wireless communications, IET Antenna and Propagation, Electronic Letters, etc.  Shrikanth’s hobby is to go on natural trails, trekking and hiking. He also enjoys sketching (pencil color), painting (water color) and cooking (occasionally).
