Dr. Om Prakash Singh has joined IIT Mandi as Assistant professor in the school of engineering. He worked 6 years in automotive domain at TVS Motor Company in R&D department from 2006 to 2011. He played a critical role in design and development of engine and its subsystems. His major focus was vehicle thermal management. Since his work was multidisciplinary in nature, he solved many problems in different fields such as thermo-mechanical, noise and vibration (NVH), fatigue etc.  using CFD and FEA commercial packages. He filed 16 patents and published more than 10 research papers in reputed journals during his industry career.
He finished his masters and PhD (year 2006) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from Mechanical engineering department. His research focus was on heat and mass transfer in double-diffusive system. More details about his PhD work can be found in his website: www.omprakashsingh.com  
He strongly believes in jointly working with industry as it the product which changes our life/society. Accordingly, students should be provided more industry oriented/practical teaching.


Dr. Barathram received his PhD degree from Virginia Tech in electrical engineering. During his PhD studies he was associated with Wireless@VT which is one of the leading research labs for wireless communication in U.S. He obtained his M.S degree in measurement and control engineering from Idaho State University in 2007 and B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2005. His research interests include signal processing, cognitive radios and wireless communication.
