Along with developing advanced technology much needed for the Himalayan Region, IIT Mandi is also determined to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Towards this, a first of its kind workshop (funded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India) was organised at IIT Mandi.
“Rann-Neeti 2016", The Annual Sports Fest of IIT Mandi, was held for the first time at IIT Mandi’s permanent campus, during 23rd - 25th Sept. 2016.
The General Trophy was won by Chitkara University, Punjab (with 44 points), whereas IIT Mandi and JUIT ended up being the Runners-up (tie, with 38 points).
Short term course on “Finite Element Method” and one day workshop on “Smart Materials and Structures” was held at IIT Mandi during 25th - 29th July 2016
The objective of the course was to discuss "How finite element method (FEM) is utilized to solve engineering problems related to stress analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow, manufacturing and electromagnetics.
