Living in Himachal Pradesh brings with it challenges pertaining to the rough terrain and changes in altitude throughout the state. The landscape is made up of steep slopes, riverbeds, and terraced farms, which are precariously, situated near single track roads. In these conditions, the building trades face numerous challenges for development and planning. To make matters worse, the state sees seismic activity and weakened infrastructure from seasonal monsoons. As a consequence, the GOAL of our project is to identify key problems faced during the construction of buildings, bridges and houses in hilly terrain and to find out to find out remedial measures for strategic development of construction activities at these places.
